You gotta love leaks like these. Not only has Samsung already posted press renders of the unannounced Gear Fit2 wearable on its own site, it has now published the full user manual as well, clearing up any lingering doubts as to what we can expect from Samsung’s next-gen fitness band.
The Gear Fit2 features GPS, perhaps the most highly sought after feature in a wearable for those that, you know, go outside. It also has an IP68 certification, meaning it can be submerged in a meter and a half of water for half an hour. The Gear Fit2 comes with a curved 1.84-inch AMOLED display and 4 GB of internal storage.

The Gear Fit2 is more ergonomically designed to better suit the curve of the wrist and looks to be made from the same rubber as the original. Fortunately, the awkward charging cradle of the original has been replaced with a more convenient charging dock. The heart-rate sensor, back and home keys are all located in the same place as the original Gear Fit.
It’s pretty clear that Samsung wasn’t looking to reinvent the wheel with the Gear Fit2, just to add GPS and slightly bump the IP rating of an already successful design. Refinement seems to be the name of the game at Samsung this year, and the Gear Fit2 shows that Samsung knows when to change something and when to leave well enough alone.
The Samsung Gear Fit2 launch is expected in South Korea sometime next month.

Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 is by no means going to change the world of fitness tracking, but it seems that no matter what Samsung does, it just can’t keep the device under wraps. It started with someone on Samsung’s end accidentally hitting something they shouldn’t have and just like that, the Gear Fit 2 popped up on Sammy’s own website. Then we saw some renders and leaked images that actually gave us a better idea as to what was coming. Now, someone managed to stumble upon the official Gear Fit 2 user manual found on Samsung’s very own support page.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 Won't Charge
The leakage of the User Manual confirms that the Gear Fit 2 will feature the following:
Features:
- 1.84-inch AMOLED display
- 4GB of storage
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Heart Rate sensor
- Step Counter
- IP68 certified
Within the User Manual, there is no mention of the actual size of the battery that will ship with the Gear Fit 2, but there is a diagram of the charging dock that will be included. This will be similar to what was included with the first generation Gear Fit. Take a look.
It seems the only thing we don’t know is when Samsung is expected to announce this device, but we can assume that it will be in the very near future if they’ve already published the user manual on the site. With preparations underway, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled and let you know if any information regarding the Gear Fit 2 becomes available.
